An annual event with strong links to the thermal spa is the Brunnenfest. Every two years, a new Brunnenkönigin (Spa Queen) is chosen to act as a glamorous and charming representative of the spa town (Ascension Day, date). Bad Breisig's Kulinarische Woche (Gourmet Week), held in mid/late July (date), is an annual celebration of international cuisine to delight the palate. The grand finale of the Kulinarische Woche is the Sommernachtsfest (Summer Night Festival) with a brilliant firework display over the Rhine. This year, the Sommernachtsfest will be held on (date).
Bad Breisig is proud of its traditions, and one of its finest is the Zwiebelmarkt (Onion Market), known in the local dialect as the 'Zwibbelsmaat'. The Zwibbelsmaat has been held here on the weekend after Holy Cross Day since 1374. It will be held this year on (date) and there will be some 300 stalls in the streets around the church and along the banks of the Rhine."
