The Volcano Express will take you over viaducts, through a tunnel and up a 5.5 km slope (climbing 400 metres) from Brohl on the Rhine to Engeln in the Eifel hills.
The narrow-gauge Volcano Express runs twice a day from Easter to November on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and public holidays. From July to September there are additional departures on Wednesday and Friday mornings.
There are evening departures from April to October as well as Santa specials and winter excursions.
Bikes are carried free of charge. Drinks are available on the train.
